Boston Red Sox Japanese hitter Masataka Yoshida has risen to the top of the American League batting list.
Yoshida started as the second designated hitter in a game against the New York Mets at Fenway Park in Boston on the 23rd 메이저놀이터 (Korea Standard Time).
The Mets’ starting pitcher on this day was Max Scherzer, a Cy Young Award-winning pitcher. Boston scored the first run in the first inning with Jaren Duran’s leadoff home run. Yoshida hit Scherzer’s 94-mile fastball to get on base with a left-handed hit.
In the second at-bat after one out in the third inning, Scherzer hit an 84 mile change-up to get on base with a pitcher’s hard hit, and Scherzer advanced to second base due to a throwing error at first base. In the fifth inning, he was out with a grounder to first base. With a 5-3 lead, he hit a timely left-handed hit in the seventh inning with one out and second base to record an RBI.
Boston won 8-6.
Yoshida had no hits and one walk in one at-bat in the suspended game, which was suspended in the fourth inning due to rain the previous day and resumed earlier in the day. His record for the game is one walk and no hits in three at-bats.

Yoshida hit three hits on the day, raising his season’s batting average to .319 (107 hits in 335 at-. Tampa Bay Jandi Diaz remained silent with no hits in three at-bats against Baltimore, falling to a season batting average of .316.
Yoshida is the top hitter in the league and Diaz is the second. Cleveland’s Josh Naylor is in third place with .312, and Toronto’s Bobissette is in fourth place with .311.
Yoshida has a good batting sense with a batting average of .345 in the last seven games and a batting average of .429 in the last 15 games.
Yoshida, who signed a five-year, $90 million contract with Boston in the offseason, was evaluated as an overpay right after his contract. He played for the Japanese national team at the World Baseball Classic in March and became the RBI king, contributing to Japan’s victory.
He has adapted quickly since his first year in Major League Baseball and is trying to become the batting champion in his first year in the U.S. after Ichiro in 2001.
