꽁머니사이트 South Korean international and KIA Tigers outfielder Choi Won-jun (26) hit a home run on his return to the first team.
Choi hit a two-run home run in the top of the third inning to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead against the NC Dinos at NC Park in Changwon on May 25.
Choi Won-jun hit a 141-kilometer-per-hour fastball thrown by NC starter Shin Min-hyuk from second base in the top of the third inning for a two-run home run. It traveled 110 meters and was his first home run of the season.
It was his first home run in 682 days. Choi’s last home run was on September 11, 2021, against the NC at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field.
On that day, Choi batted first and hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning. Choi has been playing in the KBO since June 13, after being discharged from the military in the middle of last month.
Through 24 games, he is batting .242 (22-for-91) with a .303 on-base percentage. Choi was also included in the Korean national team roster for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games (AG), which was announced just before his retirement.
Meanwhile, KIA took a 3-0 lead over NC in the third inning thanks to Choi’s performance.
