Hanwha Eagles third baseman Noh Si-hwan is accumulating records one by one toward career high.
Noh Si-hwan hit his 18th home run of the season with a two-run arch in the bottom of the fifth inning in a home game against Lotte in the 메이저토토“2023 KBO League” at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 5th.
It’s an unusual pace.
Noh Si-hwan, who joined Hanwha in the second first round (3 times overall) in 2019, was given a steady opportunity until last year, drawing attention as the future of the team.
He hit his first double-digit home run (12 home runs) in 2020 and seemed to meet expectations by recording a personal record of 18 home runs in 2021, but a brief slump came as the number of home runs fell sharply to six last year.
The missing home run came back with weight loss.
Roh Si-hwan failed to show his presence with two home runs for a month after the opening, but he has already hit three home runs in July after exploding his unique long-hitting power, including seven in May and six in June.
As Noh Si-hwan cheers up, Hanwha’s performance is also on the track. Hanwha, which had stayed at the bottom of the season, has recently been on a nine-game winning streak, and has already reached eighth place with an increase in the number of home runs by Noh Si-hwan.
At the current pace, Roh Si-hwan seems to be able to win his first Golden Glove award. The problem is the absolute powerhouse Choi Jung (SSG), who is holding out in the third baseman category.
Choi Jung also had a batting average of 0.311 with 19 home runs and 58 RBIs, leading the home run category alone, invoking MVP mode beyond the Golden Glove.
Currently, Choi Jung and Noh Si-hwan’s records are not much different. It is similar in many ways, including a batting average of early 300%, an on-base percentage of nearly 40%, and an OPS of mid- to late 90%.
In the end, the best third baseman competition this season between the two players is expected to continue until the end of the season, and it is expected that the title of the home run king will be decided
